Fearless hunter.

Took Casey to the "Y" for a walk yesterday.  First and foremost, wow, they have done a great job at this park.  I never knew there was so much to see.  Casey had a ball, she even made a new friend.

Who shot the dog?

Wow, do you own a dead dog too?  Don't you envy how they can fall asleep anywhere, anytime?  Casey has actually fallen asleep while I've petted her head, all of a sudden there is dead weight in my hand.  The bad thing is she snores like a freight train and well she farts, she is part lab, what can I say...

Casey Pops recipe

I have a great summer treat idea, Casey loves these so much she has to have one everyday even in the winter!  Super easy and healthy.

I use a cheap plastic ice cube trays, but you can make these larger or smaller depending on the size of your dog.  The great thing is that they are thick enough that you can make them free-form on a cookie sheet if you like.  Just remember the more liquid you use, the harder the treat will be and then the dogs tend to swallow them whole instead of chewing them up.

I use a food processor, but you can use a blender or just make in a bowl.  You don't need to measure, but I will use them for reference.

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree
1/2 cups shredded carrots or apples without seeds or core
Add pure no sugar added apple juice to make it thin enough

I blend this all together, put in a plastic zip bag, cut the tip and squeeze into the ice cube tray and freeze.  I take the extra and freeze in a baggie for future pops.  Saves time and I'm all about that!

The pit in the park.

Well we did it, we broke down and took the wild thing to the dog park.  My husband was prepared for a bloodbath.  I know I was NOT prepared for what happened.

Nothing happened.....I mean really, nothing happened.  Casey was like the shy wallflower at a school dance.  Every time she went up to another dog, they sniffed her, decided she doesn't eat anything worthwhile and moved on.

She spent most the day wondering around looking for a friend.  As her mommy, I felt so bad, I kept pushing her over to groups of other dogs and as soon as she got there, they dispersed. UGGGHHH, the other dogs don't like our baby!!  How could that be??!!??  Don't they see how cute she is, how special she is?

The take-over.

My husband has some strict rules, dogs belong outside, they can't get on the furniture, no barking, no jumping, etc. Well, as in many households, what man says is not necessarily what man gets.

Case in point, our bed.  Note animal blanket, note animal on blanket, note me not there since animal aka Casey has taken over.  I leave for a minute and she gets all snuggly up against my pillow, TV remote close by.

As for my husband, the guy with the rules, well he is right next to her, probably sound asleep!
